 It's time to say goodby - we will ride on!
Not in this way we planned first, but for you it wouldn't be surprising that we change our plannings from time to time ;-))
First we thought about riding our bikes to Cita - now we gonna take the train from Ulan-Ude to Chabarovsk.
From Professor, a biker out of Tomsk, we got once again some mobil
numbers from other bikers in Cita. So we send sms to one of them - he
welcomes us but also warns us of slippy roads and the still snow
covered Cita.
Slippy, Snow? Oh no, we don't need it!
We are hesitant. Actually we are looking forward to ride our bikes
after this long break. After some long minutes of thinking about we
decided to take the train from Ulan-Ude insteat of Cita. Once again we
got numbers from Bikers, this time out of Ulan-Ude. Juri, a young biker
comes to the train station within minutes and helps us with the
organisation of the transport of our bikes.
These Russian biker er unique and great!
After a few minutes we know everything we need and the friendly women
at the different counters answer every question with patience.
We need a box for the bikes - even here Juri knows what to do. We will
meet again on Monday evening, he will bring boards, nails and friends
for helping us.
During we spent our time ath the station it starts snowing - it seems the weather wants to confirm our decision.
Toma, a friend of Eliane comes to the station too and with her and
Elianes help we hold our tickets to Chabarovsk in our hands after a few
minutes.
We will go one day after our bikes. First we wanted to take the much
more cheaper "Platzkart" (50% of the ticket for the coupe) but it's not
possible to reservate one. Because of we don't want to rest here some
more days and because of our bikes will leave on Monday we decided to
take the more expensive "Coupe" (4people compartement). With 2475,- RUB
for about 2500 km it's also fair.
With the tickets for us we only paz the half of the usual costs for
freight and so we will pay about 70,- RUB for 10kg weight for our bikes.
At the 13th of April we will arrive in Chabarovsk after 52h on train.
Weathermen say there is rain instead of snow and temperatures are about
13°C.
So long for the last short report our of Siberia - next will come from
The Far East, out of Vladivostock. We will stay there untill we can
leave Russia between the 20th and 30th of May direction Canda.
